About the Inspector
Rick Steffen is the Owner and Lead Inspector of SMR Inspection Services, LLC, bringing more than 35 years of experience across the construction, mining, and agricultural industries. His background includes extensive work as a General Contractor, delivering residential, commercial, and agricultural projects throughout the United States.
He has held a Commercial “A” Contractor’s License for over 25 years, providing a deep, practical understanding of building systems, construction methods, and long-term performance considerations.
As an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, Rick conducts inspections with a disciplined, systematic approach and in accordance with recognized Standards of Practice. His inspections emphasize accuracy, consistency, thorough documentation, and clear communication to support informed decision-making.
